One of my clients just took delivery of this '14 Civic EX-L coupe. It is a vast improvement over the '13, both inside and out. Now before you jump all over me and say "Y U NO Mazda3?" here is the situation...
My customer's car had just died. He wanted a black Civic coupe and I had a local dealer that had one in stock (two door cars are not easy to come by) and I knew the price would be a good one. It was a quick and easy deal and I knew he could get what he wanted without waiting.

I've seen a Black Civic coupe with the Burns Honda plate in my neighborhood! I guess there's more than one Burns honda.

Hondas are really getting my attention lately. Especially the Accord. If you can get past the bland styling, it's a great car.

Hey I don't have to drive it. :D

Blame, er, thank Canada for that. The Civic has been the best selling car (best selling vehicle is the F-150) up here for a decade and a half. It's the most important global market for the Civic, so when Canadians complained - like many others - about the issues with this generation, Honda wisely did an early refresh of the car. I haven't been paying much attention, but early reports are good, I think.
Still think this gen and the previous one look better as a 4-door spaceship, but to each his own.

Close, Pennsylvania. It could possibly be the same car, and they were visiting family here or something

Sorry, I couldn't resist the urge to use that gif. I didn't pay attention to if it had the EX-L fog lights. The Burns plate caught my attention, and the fact that it was a 2014 civic.

Maybe it's the color or the angle, but I'm actually digging the styling. I like the curves and the fact that it's not going in for the "tiny headlights/giant grille" trend.

Did they put the civic si wheels from the 2009-2011 models on these new 2014's or is this a used model? Either way, I have had no chance to check these new ones out but I like their new design of the sideview mirrors over the last models.

That doesn't look like a Mazda3 to me

I saw my first mazda3 in GT trim today, was VERY NICE. Bigger wheels, HIDs etc make a huge difference.

In Jalopnik if you buy a Honda you have to justify yourself, knowing it wasn't the best purchase for the money.
What happened to you Honda, you used to be so great.
(yes I talk to it directly)

I'm just glad the 14 sedan didn't change much from the 13... Since I have a 13 sedan and all

Yeah it's amazing how much dealer relationships make a difference. Had my local Mazda dealers been willing to work with me in the past, I would have pushed the 3. But since his first choice was the Civic coupe and I already had a dealer who treats me well, I saw no reason to sway him otherwise.
